Françoise Nielly

“I have vivid images of colors, of brightness.
Yellow, sunshine, blue, heat, cicadas, pin smell, light…
all of that classical imagery of South France is very alive as an experience inside of me.
Maybe it is what led me to the use of fluorescent colors in my paintings.”
- Françoise Nielly
The portrait of Bill is still unsold according to her website… and my birthday is coming up!

She has really inspired me to play with color, because I have always had this feeling that when you paint something real it should look real. Bill looks real, yet he’s painted in CRAZY colors! I love it! So fun :)
Here’s a link to her fabulous website.

Artists, Artists everywhere.

I have been getting such joy recently out of photographer and artsy extraordinaire Todd Selby’s website, apply titled The Selby. Basically, he photographs the houses of people who are waaaaaaaay cooler than you are.

They’re all artists of some kind (painters, sculptors, fashion and interior designers, etc.) but what they have in common, is that they have nothing in common! Their styles are so different; it is fascinating! If you are redecorating and need a little inspiration, or simply want to spend a few minutes looking at the beautiful, eccentric and sometimes kooky home furnishings of artists, definitely check him out!

Here are some of the artists he features:

Jamie Bowers
Lyndsay and Fitzhugh
Nicki Bidder
Oliver Clegg
Verbal

Christian Louboutin

Oh Karl… you slay me
