I was pleasantly surprised to come across this rebrand of a small local theater in Wisconsin. Black is such a sophisticated, glamorous color. I said just the other day that I wish it were used more often in design.

And when you think about it, black is the perfect color for a movie theater because of film history. Noir is even a genre of film, I mean come on people! Made for each other.

1. the majority of people look completely ridiculous and/or are peacocking. If you’re a fashion editor, go crazy with it, but that’s a bit impractical for the rest of us.

2. you see the same trends over and over again. How many times have you seen the boyfriend jean + statement necklace like the Man Repeller, or the girl with long, slightly disheveled hair wearing a beanie a la Cara Delevingne?

Enter Sandra Hagelstam to save the day with her impeccable taste. (I wrote about her on last month’s Blog Envy) My go to girl for inspiration has a new street style blog called The Neighborhood Watch.

Do not get me wrong, there are trends going on (looking at you Coachella), but more often than other blogs, you see gems like this…

So. much. minimalism. My heart is aflutter.

One of the reasons that I have not posted many outfits is because I am searching for a new style that’s minimal and classic but with an edgy twist. I also have not gone shopping since December and I don’t care two bits about it. Now, I have a clearer vision of what I want to go for.

I’m really excited to see how the aesthetic of the site evolves as Sandra gets more images.

Zoe noticed Ali walking by the cafe she works at in Berlin every morning and began to photograph his style. There are not many images on the Tumblr, but it is one of the most wonderful things I’ve seen in a long time. Ali’s outfits are always eye catching and I love to read Zoe’s captions. Their unlikely friendship is blossoming right in front of our eyes! Yay Internet!

If you are like me, the word “Trigonometry” might conjure horrible memories of high school math that send you running in terror. Luckily for us, Sydney’s Olivia King interpreted the word a bit differently.

Olivia combined an appreciation for triangles, bright colors, Australia’s finest natural materials and a passion for jewelry making into her new project, Trig.

Using the Trig app, customers can choose between multiple variations of color, shape and material. The finished pieces are then packaged in brightly colored boxes and sent on their merry way.

Now this is one Trig I can support! I love all those bright colors.
